Principal Provisions of the New Criminal Legislation and Crime Policy

Abstract
Recently new draft of the Lithuanian Criminal Code was submitted to the Lithuanian Parliament. Principal provisions of the new Criminal Code and their implications on crime policy are being investigated. The categories of crime and criminal offences provide for the new draft. Much attention was being paid towards the implementation of principle of justice in criminal law. Different attitude towards the persons the first time committed crimes and recidivists is implemented in provisions of a new draft. New attitude towards the rights of a victim in criminal law is implemented in provisions of the code. They get more rights to refrain from prosecution and its continuation.
