Historical Development of Handwriting Examination in Lithuania (1918–2000)

Abstract
In this article on the groud of literature sources and archival materials basic questions of writing examination science and examinational practice are presented at separate stages of its development history: in prewar Lithuania (1918–2000), during soviet period (1940–1990) and after declaration of the independence in Lithuania (1999–2000). Influence of calligrafic examinations and graphology as sciences about handwriting on criminalistic handwriting examination is presented, the contribution made by pedagogues, psychologists and prewar criminalistic experts for the creation of progressive methodics of handwriting examination is marked.
