Abstract
Im Artikel wird die Verfassung des Großherzogtums Luxemburg vom 9. Juli 1848 (in der Fassung der Bekanntmachung vom 17. Oktober 1868) behandelt. Sie wird als streng abänderbare und oktroyierte Verfassung bezeichnet. Das Großherzogtum Luxemburg ist eine parlamentarische Demokratie in Form einer konstitutionellen Erbmonarchie. Es wird im Artikel eine große Aufmerksamkeit den verfassungsrechtlichen Institutionen – dem Großherzog, dem Parlament, der Regierung sowie den Gerichten geschenkt und eine kurze Analyse ihrer Einberufung, Zusammensetzung und Befugnisse vorgebracht. Staatsoberhaupt ist seit Oktober 2000 Großherzog Henri. Die Luxemburger sehen in der Großherzoglichen Familie ein Symbol ihrer Unabhängigkeit.
