Abstract

We carried out two experiments with person's himself disguised signatures in 1997–1999. About 1000 persons' signatures were investigated.
The generalization of investigation data excluded two main methods of disguise of signatures: 1) signature is disguised in such a way that its characteristics indicate person's aspiration to give it image of false signature and 2) when signature is such that expert is able to interpret person's truly disguised signatures only as variants because it is impossible to prove by forensic methods that these signatures are disguised. The article analyses 3 large groups of characteristics, which vary if person really disguised his signatures determinated by experiments. Peculiarities of forensic investigation and preparation of material for examination of such objects are discussed in this article on the ground of those characteristics.
