Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of a preliminary contract. It deals with the content of such a contract, circumstances of its formation and significance.
Various aspects of making contracts have become very important in the period of open market economy and growing opportunities provided by it.
Due to the fact that a preliminary contract has been enforced in the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania for the first time, an attempt has been made to characterize such a contract and explain its meaning.
