The impact of immigration on public safety: legal and sociological aspects

Abstract
The aim of the research is to carry out the analysis of legal acts, regulating the presence of foreigners and residents without the citizenship in the country, analyse the problems of applying them in practice, ascertain the main aims of arrival of the above mentioned persons in Lithuania, set the peculiarities of criminal actions of such persons and estimate the threats of their further residence for public safety.
Based on the statistics the criminal actions committed by foreigners and residents without the citizenship as well as criminal actions committed against them are being analyzed. The research also aims to assess the threats of further residence of the said persons for public safety of the Republic of Lithuania.
