Definition of Coercive Measures in Criminal Procedure

Abstract
The Lithuanian Code of Criminal Procedure institutes measures of coercion as exceptional measures which can be used only to enable the implementation of the aims of the criminal procedure, when other measures are not effective. The author of this article deals with the essence and the definition of the measures of coercion in criminal proceedings, analyzing the manner in which measures of coercion control the treatment of the persons concerned and allow collecting evidence that are important in the case.
