Abstract
This article is dedicated to the memory of Algimantas Dziegoraitis. The article reviews professional biography and bibliography data. Significant attention is paid to the jurist’s scientific and publicist activities, helping to reveal essential thoughts and ideas, which he cultivated throughout his long professional career, which lasted at least 45 years. His thoughts on the rule of law, the separation of powers, legal culture, requirements for lawyers, and the role of the legal profession demonstrate his inexhaustible wisdom and strong value system.
This article is based not only on A. Dziegoraitis’ scientific work and insights into current affairs, but also on archival material, uncovering evidence of his education, degree documents, positions held, and social activities. Archives kept at Mykolas Romeris University were used, along with various interviews and articles published in the media. The author thanks A. Dziegoraitis’ widow, Regina Gražina Dziegoraitienė, and his son, Vytenis Dziegoraitis, for the information and material provided.
