On the base of expert evaluation of violent criminality tendencies and their social situation, the violent crimes development indices for the nearest several years (1999-2000) are foreseen, their social situation characteristics are pointed out, the proposals are made concerning the development of strategy and tactics for the prevention of violent criminality in Lithuania.
The tendency of decrease in the rate of premeditated murders (with attempts to murder), the situation with rapes (with attempts to rape) will be stable, and the registered number of deliberate grevious bodily harms may rise (approximately by 6 per cent).
