Abstract

The article presents the results of the second profile "A Contemporary Conception of Crime Investigation and its Criminalistic and Procedural Assurance" of the key scientific programme "Dynamics of Criminality in Lithuania, Prognosis, Control Aspects and Contemporary Conception of Criminalistics" which was implemented at Mykolas Romeris University. The results are as follows:
• Formulated basics for the development of criminalistics science in Lithuania;
• Prepared and implemented basics of the applied criminalistics as a discipline determining the functions of crime investigation, new types of crime (economic, financial, commercial, banking, etc.) investigation techniques and scientific-practical recommendations are being prepared;
• Put forward a contemporary predictive conception of the crime investigation in Lithuania (procedural, criminalistic and organizational aspects);
• Submitted projects of law and proposals to improve the law of criminal procedure, accomplished scientific expertises of the other prepared projects, fulfilled scientific practical recommendations for the law enforcement institutions to optimise the activity of crime investigation and to increase its results, analytical generalizations, scientific informational reviews, dissertations, practical methodical recommendations and textbooks are presented too.
• Prepared scientific education (study) programmmes in addittion to practical programmes of special knowledge application to investigate crime for the specialists being trained at Mykolas Romeris University, as well as for those who are undergoing vocational training and law enforcement staff.
Particular attention is paid to the fact that the initial conditions of the implementation of the scientific programme do not entirely correspond to the final conditions. There is an emphasized necessity to proceed with the integrated investigation of crime phenomena at the international level.
