Compensation for Individuals Suffered from Criminal Acts in Lithuania

Abstract
This article examines the rules of law that determine compensation for the individuals suffered from criminal acts. It is important because victims of criminal acts are interested not only in negative effects occurred in case of rules infraction but also in possibility to get compensation for prejudice caused as well as law reglamentation.
The study presented in this article shows that still there is no common system in context of compensation for prejudice caused in Lithuania. Certainly there are cases of State compensations set for the individuals suffered from other persons` caused prejudice by performed illegitimate acts. The author describes, analyses these cases and indicates the caused changes of law regulation
The author analyses the main international documents that regulate issues of compensation for prejudice in case of performed illegitimate acts as well as State obligation for compensation for victims when the causer is insolvent or unidentified.
The author analyses law project that is meant for compensations for the individuals suffered from criminal acts and gives suggestions for the development of individual’s protection and guarantees for individuals suffered from right violation.
The author uses law science research methods such as historical, comparative nad logical – analytical and others.
