Abstract
The infringements of criminal procedure law as well as the fundamental infringements of criminal procedure law in the criminal proceedings are not rare. The fundamental infringements of criminal procedure law cause serious damage and particular legal consequences. Therefore, the conception of the fundamental infringements of criminal procedure law provided in the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Lithuania and court practice is discussed in the article. The article reveals the most important feature of the fundamental infringements of criminal procedure law which is difficult to establish – the causal relationship between infringements of criminal procedure law and unfair court decision-making.
