Abstract

Modulation of antiproliferative properties to alleviate cancer disease has been of interest since long. Plant extracts have been widely investigated for possible therapeutic properties. We have evaluated the anticellular properties of ethanolic extract of Acorus calamus roots. This extract inhibited proliferation of human origin cell lines – a breast cancer cell line (MCF7), adenocarcinomic human alveolar basal epithelial cell lina (A549) as well as neroblastoma line cells (N2A).
