Abstract

More than four years have passed since the beginning of the Pilot Court Mediation Project in Lithuania. It may prove useful to examine the results and problems of the project and evaluate its effectiveness. The present article assesses the results of the project, attemts to identify problems encountered and propose possible solutions.
The first part of the article analyses the preconditions for the project. The second part of the paper deals with the legal grounds. The third part of the article focuses on the identification of the model of court mediation applied in Lithuania, while the fourth and the fifth parts are devoted to the results and problematic issues in the project.
