Participation of Non-government Organizations of People with Disability in Public Governance: Experiences of Klaipėda City Municipality

Abstract
This study analyses participation of non-government organizations of one of the social groups – people with disability – in public governance and investigates possibilities, forms and methods of participation in public government of Klaipėda city municipality. Conception of participation in public government and problems of participation in public government of Lithuanian non-government organizations of people with disability are discussed in this article. Data of study performed in Klaipėda city municipality in 2016 are presented. The results showed that participation in public government of non-government organizations of people with disability in Klaipėda city municipality was low. Factors which determined low participation and measures which could increase it were identified.
