Process Approach in Management and Public Administration

Abstract
The application of system of processes within an organization together with the identification and interactions and managing of these processes can be referred to as process approach. A desired result in an organization is achieved more efficiently when activities and related resources are managed as a process, because this reduces the communication barriers between the departments and hierarchical levels. In the article is presented the requirements of the international standards for the organizations which implemented the process approach, methods of description, analysis and control of the processes, six – sigma concept of process capability. Also, is briefly presented the implementation of process approach in project management, in public policy and administration, in auditing of the organizations and in the organizations of Lithuanian health care.
