Abstract
Purposes. The research aims to find out whether entrepreneur orientation affects the innovative work behavior and business performance of MSEs, whether knowledge management affects the innovative work behavior and business performance of MSEs, whether human capital has an impact on the innovative work behavior and performance of MSEs, and whether innovative work behavior influences the performance of MSEs
Design/Methodology/Approach. SEM/PLS rules for determining the number of samples based on the number of indicators, there were 20 indicators and between 100 and 200 samples in this study. A more representative sample size is needed because the number of MSEs is quite large. Based on these considerations, a sample of 160 people was determined. Based on this number, samples will be randomly selected, and a questionnaire will be sent to each sample via the Google Forms application. The data obtained will be processed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method.
Findings. The research results show that entrepreneurial orientation has a positive and significant effect on Innovative Work Behavior and business performance in MSEs, while knowledge management has a positive and significant impact on innovative work behavior and innovative work behavior has a positive and significant effect on business performance; human resources do not affect innovative work behavior and business performance, nor does knowledge management have a substantial impact on business performance; This research also reveals that innovative work behavior can mediate the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and knowledge management on business performance, but innovative work behavior cannot mediate the relationship between human capital and business performance.
Originality. This study provides a new perspective by attempting to reveal the role of human resource aspects in micro and small businesses.
Practical Implication. Entrepreneurs in the micro and small business sectors must always try to strengthen entrepreneurial orientation and knowledge management to encourage increased innovation in work behavior and business performance.
