Abstract
This article deals with problems of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system selection as an initial phase of that system’s implementation. As ERP selection is a very complex process, to facilitate its analysis, the problem is divided into different parts identifying ERP selection criteria. Generally the criteria are classified on the basis of scientists’ research interests but in the majority of cases two main groups of ERP selection criteria are distinguished—software-related and implementation-related ERP selection criteria. Within the scope of this article combining theoretical and practical approaches, the most significant implementation-related ERP system selection criteria were identified and reviewed, analyzing and interpreting definitions and differences among them. The overview was completed by practical/statistical findings made by different consultancies.
