Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to analyse the results of the therapeutic community for drug addicts at Lithuanian AIDS Centre for the period of 1993-2005. 142 addicts were interviewed one year after their release from the therapeutic community. The main criteria of therapeutic success were abstinence from drug using and social adaptation. The investigation revealed that 68% of all drug addicts after rehabilitation were not using drugs. These results are similar to those established by other researches in the USA and Western Europe. The main indicators for success are the time of stay in rehabilitation program (from 12 to 14 months).
