The guidelines of models of governance of foreign universities

Abstract
The guidelines of governance of some foreign universities are analyzed. The main management principles are identified. The particular attention is paid to those countries whose university management models are controversial or comparable to the models used in Lithuania. The experience of foreign universities is coming into practice of Lithuanian universities, particularly in the process to enhance shared governance in universities of Lithuania. The author is not sure that any foreign model of management of the university may be used without correction in Lithuania. It is supposed to look at the set of management models of foreign institutions, to choose only these principles, aspects, and propositions which may be useful to reform the university system in Lithuania and do it effectively.
